It's In The Bag!

As women, we are known to be very guilty of carrying our lives around in our handbags, and I really do try not to, but there are some core products I simply cannot travel without!

As the founder and MD of Blossom and Jasmine, I am often asked to give tips and advice on capsule items for quick beauty routines.  These change frequently as I am always keen to incorporate new and innovative products to my beauty routine where possible.

Today I am rocking my Hermes Birkin, which, quite frankly, is the love of my life! It really is the perfect bag, and it holds everything I need for important meetings, photo shoots and general life!

My wallet is also Hermes, but I am whimsical and like to change this up often, depending on my mood! My handbag wouldn't be complete without my blackberry as it's my lifeline to the world of Blossom & Jasmine on the move, and my Mont Blanc pen, which was a very kind gift from a client.

As you can see, I have a couple of random bits in there today, a $2 dollar note - it's my good luck charm - and my fave quick snack, some good ole Texas Joes!

I'm sporting Dior sunglasses - again dependant on my mood - and today's fragrance is Miss Dior, which I love for its strong floral notes. You can't beat a classic!

Team that with a smattering of my core beauty-on-the-move favourites and I can get through even the most stressful of days with a slick make up look.  I have Illamasqua mascara which is a sure stay product I never go anywhere without, a lipstick from the same, a Chanel blush palette, so versatile and compact, and my beloved By Terry Rose foundation. Let me count the ways in which I love By Terry products! Luckily I have a Space NK near me so I can be stocked up on the latest must-haves at all times. Some Creme De La Mer is a staple which never leaves my side as it is my instant dry skin fix for winter days and long flights.

Hope you all enjoyed a little rummage in my handbag folks, have a successful week and stay fabulous!

Dragon's blood anyone.....?

Posted: 20 January 2015 21:38

Not just for Hallowe'en, this spookily named beauty gem is a must for anyone with sensitive skin!
Another triumph from super skincare house Rodial, the range includes cleansing water, sculpting gel, a hyaluronic mask as well as the essential moisturiser and night cream.
The essential ingredient is the humble sap from the Croton Lechleri tree, which forms a second skin-like protective film, easing sensitivity and reducing stress on the skin.
I used this in my beauty regime teamed with the brand's other killer product, Bee Venom, and watched my skin transform!

The golden touch….

Posted: 20 January 2015 21:31

A client of Blossom & Jasmine recently requested our deluxe massage package but with extra luxe and as always, we are happy to cater to all of our clients needs. We offer the optimum home luxury experience, but thanks to this gorgeous little product, we turned this appointment to a golden one!
After dark golden body oil from the Natural Spa factory compliments our range of massages perfectly. Choc full of jojoba, apricot kernel and sweet almond oils, this leaves your skin radiant, baby soft and with a delicately sweet fragrance. And for the creme de la creme, it’s gold extract leaves you with a subtle shimmer on your freshly pampered skin. Also terrific for use before a special night out for that extra touch of dazzle.

GLOBES

Posted: 12 January 2015 15:28

By Fashion and Beauty Director Amanda Fulton

Well it was Golden Globe time again, who pulled an all nighter to get their fashion fix on real time?

The leading ladies pulled out all the stops this year and didn't dissapoint!

Winter White reigned supreme in the colour stakes, being worn across a plethora of gowns. Our favourites were worn by Emily Blunt and Kate Hudson.

Amal Clooney showed her own fashion panache and customised her Dior couture gown with a pair of her own immaculate white elbow length evening gloves and looked every inch the perfect film star, despite being nothing of the kind.

Looking drop dead red Glamour in Versace, Heidi Klum firmly put her vamp stamp on the event.

Jennifer Lopez' beauty still renders me speechless at times, and last night was no exception.

J-Lo eternally oozes sex appeal and knows how to rock any frock!

This Zuhair Murad gown glittered, hugged and even incorporated a cape, which is so hot right now. On any average body, this dress could have been a shocker, but on La Lopez, it ticked every box! The lady doubled rocked by changing into white Louboutins, and a mid-riff revealing cut away white gown for the after party.

Of course, the Globes werent without its fashion disasters and words fail me so I will just leave you with some pics of my fashion donts!

SALES

Posted: 8 January 2015 22:13

By Fashion and Beauty Director Amanda Fulton

Anyone get any sweet deals at the January sales this year?

Pretty much all thats left now on the racks are the pieces no-one or their Grandmother would touch but if you got in early, hopefully you were able to bag a few bargains!

So the big ones for anyone in the remote vicinity of London are Harrods & Selfridges. This is the bi-annual mecca for true fashionistas who lust after their labels at discount prices.

Personally, I start at Selfridges on the stroke of 9am on Boxing day, work my way through the store then grab a cab over to Harrods and do it all over again! The summer sales are slightly more laid back as the less obsessed people are at work!

This year I managed to snag myself a pair of Jimmy Choo glitter pumps at 50% off, some too-cute block toe Dior ballet flats - saving a respectable 30% -  and a new infusion of various tops and jeans to see me through the rest of the chilly season.

A quick trip to www.bicestervillage.com ensured I got the beauty bargain of the festive period at the Elemis pop up shop there.  A vanity case set choc full of Elemis products including their signature Marine Cream set me back only £90, with products actually worth over £300!!! Since I was there anyway, it was only polite to pop into www.toryburch.com to update my purse collection, at 50% off of course!

In all honesty, my love for the sales runs parallel with my annoyance at the lack of size and colour choices available at these events but if you are lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time, its such a thrill to go home with the perfect shoe for your tootsies or the right pair of hip-huggers.

Also, online sales shopping absolutely rocks as it’s so easy to find that elusive key piece without wearing your feet out.  My favourite online sales are www.secretsales.com,  www.net-a-porter.com and as always, you cant beat a bit of www.zara.com
